It is said that on the day of Chhoti Diwali, Krishna killed the demon Narakasura with help from his wife Satyabhama. The story goes that Narakasura was a diamond merchant who had amassed a great fortune. He was so greedy that he began to hoard all the diamonds for himself, denying them to others. When Satyabhama learned of this, she was enraged. She confronted Narakasura and demanded that he give her some of the diamonds. When he refused, she vowed to kill him.

With help from Krishna, Satyabhama was able to defeat Narakasura and reclaim the diamonds. This victory is celebrated on Chhoti Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights. On this day, Hindus light diyas (lamps) and set off fireworks to commemorate Satyabhama's triumph. They also exchange gifts and sweets with family and friends.
